Portia Sharpe is the 7th and lowest ranked member of the DoodleCo Executives and the head of DoodleCo's R&D (Research and Development). Portia is the daughter of one of DoodleCo's founder, Rebecca, who was responsible for the discovery of artificial doodle awakenings. DoodleCo expects her to continue her mother's legacy and research on artificial awakenings but is consistently dissapointed in her as Portia seemingly prefers to fool around rather than do any work exemplified by Portia being the head of "Quincy Fan Club", which is a club dedicated to supporting Quincy. However, Portia's lax attitude towards her work seems to mostly stem for her feeling constantly pressured and belitted by DoodleCo, even wishing she could quit her job if she is able to.

Story[]

Route 4[]

Portia is first met on Route 4, right after the pla However, Portia's lax attitude towards her work seems to mostly stem from her feeling constantly pressured and belitted by DoodleCo, even saying that she wishes to quit DoodleCo if she is able to. yer enters the route. She introduces herself as the president of the Quincy Fan Club, a club formed in order to give Quincy company. She recognizes the player as the one who took a Starter Doodle before Quincy could, and she challenges them to a battle. When she loses, she uses her teleportation device to teleport away.

The Crossroads & Graphite Temple[]

She later reappears at The Crossroads, and accompanies TJ and the player through Graphite Forest and Graphite Maze. She teleports to the sky island where Graphite Temple resides, and watches as Quincy's battle request is turned down by Nimbus. The player battles both Quincy and him. Afterwards, when a mysterious figure shows up, and destroys Quincy's private jet with Chronos, Portia teleports everyone away to safety. Unfortunately, teleporting many people at once can cause the device to teleport everyone to different places.

The Oasis[]

The next time Portia appears, it is at the Oasis, watching a goon known as Ziggy stealing TJ’s wallet. She says that she could get TJ’s wallet back as an excuse to talk to Quincy. She teleports to Ziggy and battles him for his wallet. The player battles Ziggy using Portia’s team. Once the goon is defeated, she teleports back to the Oasis to hand TJ his wallet back and talk to Quincy. She informs the group that she can set up an appointment with Ellen, a DoodleCo executive, for them. Quincy, unwillingly, is forced to ask Portia if she could set up an appointment for them. Portia exclaims that it is a dream come true for Quincy to ask her a favor.

Once everyone arrives at the DoodleCo Office J, they all talk to Ellen. She reveals that she is participating in the key hunt. TJ wants to make her an offer. Ellen gladly accepts this and allows Portia and Quincy to join her in her office to discuss about this offer.

Oasis Underground Meeting[]

After the player defeats Zane in his hideout and them, Zane, and Suzie are traversing the Oasis Underground, a meeting in Ellen's office begins involving her, Portia, Quincy, and TJ. An officer named Terry is told to lock the doors. Then, Ellen explains that DoodleCo wishes to purchase the Miracle Key from Victor Solis. TJ is surprised, saying that he thought Zane was the Key Guardian. Ellen continues to explain that Solis has imprisoned the Legendary Doodle Zerzura and is using it to power the city. She explains that law enforcement is closing in on him, so TJ and Quincy will have to obtain the Key first. Quincy protests, saying that there's no way either him or TJ are strong enough to stop the player from obtaining the Key first. Then, Ellen explains that Portia has been working on something which will increase their strength.

Portia begins by explaining the Doodle War. She says that 500 years ago, there was a war that encompassed the entire island, and it was fought between two Legendary Doodles: Verdrok, the representation of reality, and Somniere, the representation of dreams. Despite Verdrok being significantly weaker than Somniere, it was able to defeat Somniere and win the war. Any Doodle that fought on Somniere's side was punished by having their power sealed away within a Runestone, and when a Doodle gets ahold of its respective Runestone, it is able to take on its old form. In order to prevent another war, Verdrok created a limitation which only allowed tamers to awaken one Doodle per battle.

Then, Portia explains that they have recently been able to awaken Doodles that did not participate in the war. This is done by harnessing the energy from when a Runestone is activated, and applying that to any Doodle. By placing this energy into an item, that item functions as a runestone. Then, Officer Terry asks which Doodles have been artifically awakened, and Portia tells the group that so far, they have been able to awaken Owol and Hypnotl. Quincy asks if she did all of this by herself, and Portia tells him that these were her mother's last notes before she died.

Then, Terry explains that he "can't take this anymore" and teleports away with a blue glow. Then, he reappears without his disguise, revealing himself to be Mister Riffraff. He complains that he wasn't invited to the "exposition dump" and tells Ellen that there is no point in calling security, as Teneson, the only person capable of catching him, is in the faraway DoodleCo City. Then, he explains that Ellen wants to get the Key because she's desperate to escape demotion. He pulls up a list of the seven executives of DoodleCo in descending order: CEO Charles, Teneson, Cortes, Ellen, Yami, Joseph, and Portia. Riffraff explains that one of Yami's subordinates was able to steal a Key, meaning Yami will soon be promoted.

However, Portia interrupts him, saying that she knows the real reason why he is here: to learn more about the uses of her mother's research. She identifies Riffraff by his real name, and explains he was one of the three original founders of DoodleCo. She also claims that he is the man who killed her mother, Rebecca. Riffraff does not deny this, and instead warns Portia to not continue her mother's research, as it "consumed her." He says it's for Portia's safety, since Rebecca was his best friend as they constantly worked together. Then, Riffraff teleports away, saying that the group will have to hurry if they want to get the Miracle Key before the player. Ellen then gives one artifical runestone each to TJ and Quincy.

Oasis Wrapup Meeting[]

After the events at the Oasis Underground end, the player and their group meet with Zane, Portia, and Ellenat DoodleCo Office J. Ellen talks about how that she is annoyed that Quincy and TJ weren’t able to retrieve the Miracle Key for her and she is now going to be demoted to the fifth ranked DoodleCo Executive since a member of the ShadowClan retrieved a key for “Yami”. Portia, who also isn’t in a good mood, also demands for TJ and Quincy to give her the artificial runestones back. She then decides to let Quincy battle with his Hypnotl Antigen against the player. Once the player defeats Quincy, Portia decides to give the antigen to the player since she decides that they are more capable of wielding it. She still has to work on some technical issues with the Owol Artificial Runestone however.

Suzie explains that the player made a deal with Victor Solis in order to get the Miracle Key as it would be a much safer bet. Zane then chimes in as he asks if Solis was caught, but Suzie tells him that the authorities hasn’t found him yet. Ellen decides to make Zane the interim CEO of Oasis Energy since he knows the area very and that he deeply cared for it for a long time. Suzie asks if the Oasis wouldn’t run out of power since Zerzura has been freed, but Ellen replies swifly to her, telling Suzie that Zerzura simply gave even more energy and power to the Oasis than needed. She says that the next time she comes across with the player, she would have permission to use her team which also includes her powerful Prismare. After Ellen and Portia teleport to DoodleCo City, Quincy explains to TJ about why Portia lost her team for a few months. The reason why she is using a weaker team than her normal team was because she got in trouble with Teneson for creating the Quincy Fan Club. Soon enough, a mailman arrives to hand a letter to the player and their group.

The Carnival[]

When the player finds Teneson at the near Taffy Shop and asks them to locate Portia, the search leads to the Doodle Racing second-floor audience stands where Portia has been quietly predicting the races and collecting tickets. On approach she admits she should return to work but asks for one small favor: the chance to vent to someone she trusts. The player is presented with two flavour-only prompts that both lead to the same moment of choice, then a single meaningful decision — refuse to listen or agree to hear her out.

If the player refuses, Portia shrugs, delays returning to Teneson, and remains in the stands watching races; she can be re-approached repeatedly and will only go back to Teneson if the player later chooses to listen. If the player agrees, Portia teleports both of them to a private Ferris Wheel carriage where she explains, in private, that she feels trapped by her role at DoodleCo, afraid of being compelled into her mother’s experiments, and constrained by Teneson’s enforcement of corporate orders. She says she wants a simpler life and indirectly asks the player to become strong enough someday to oppose Teneson, then gives the player her carnival tickets as a token. After the Ferris Wheel scene Portia teleports the player back down and returns to Teneson.

Personality[]

Despite looking like an obstructive person, Portia Sharpe has a sweet and caring personality, often offering to do the right thing in most situations and attempting to persuade the character to do the more kinder route in decisions. Portia is also a social butterfly, making friends or attempting to make friends with almost everybody she comes across. She will jump to defend people she sees as friends and is always willing to help make things less stressful when she can. Despite her sweet nature she possesses a more serious side to her, which is often seen when she is discussing topics such as DoodleCo, Mister Riffraff, and especially her own mother Rebecca, as Portia was even willing to rebuke Quincy and TJ for criticizing her mother's work.
