Story

Lakewood Sewers

The player first encounters Mister Riffraff at the end of Route 3, where he convinces a DoodleCo employee that is fixing the gate to come to his lair to play Roblox. He invites the player, too. Right after Riffraff and the employee leave, TJ runs up to the player to warn them that Riffraff is a minor criminal and that the employee needs to be rescued from being kidnapped.

Once the player reaches Riffraff's Lair, Riffraff welcomes the player warmly, shows them around his lair via teleportation, and gives a brief rundown of his talents depending on the area he's in. It contains games and devices such as a television, a pool table, a minigolf course, and an air hockey table. He, the employee, and the player spend hours playing the games until TJ storms into the lair and scolds the employee. As they try to leave, Riffraff teleports in front of them and states that he will only let them leave if the player can defeat him in battle.

Once he is defeated, Teneson, a DoodleCo executive, enters the lair in order to tell the DoodleCo employee to get back to work. Afterwards, Riffraff is seen talking to his lackeys in Lakewood Tunnel. He states that "Teneson is now in play" and that he will do whatever it takes to meet the Doodle that is sending him dreams, even if it kills him.

Riffraff can be briefly seen after beating Portia on Route 4, as he watches the player make talk with her, before he teleports away with Number Two and Number Three once Portia is gone.

Graphite Lodge Wrap up

Riffraff appears once again at Graphite Lodge after the events that unfolded at the Graphite Temple, as Quincy questions how he has a teleporter. Riffraff says that he has located the second Key and that it is in Von Sweetsville. Then, he volunteers to teleport the player and Quincy, but Quincy says he doesn't want a "poor person" to be teleported with him as payback for how they "stole" the first Key from him. Riffraff teleports Quincy, but as much as he would help the player, he said that he needs Quincy for his plan. He then teleports away with Quincy.

Von Sweetsville Factory

After beating von Sweets in his factory, Zavier appears to threaten the group once more. However, he is teleported away by Riffraff, who then teleports von Sweets to reunite with Pandishi, before teleporting away himself. He is then seen talking to Zavier on a ledge high above Von Sweetsville. Zavier recognizes him to be "the most famous and disgraced ex-DoodleCo employee." Riffraff exclaims that he thought he'd hid his true identity well. He then goes on to explain to Zavier that their goals aren't so different. Riffraff makes a deal: neither of them will give any keys to DoodleCo, and Zavier will leave the player and their friends alone, as they're needed in Riffraff's plan. Finally, Riffraff says that Zavier will end up with all the keys, as "fate wills it."

Oasis Underground Meeting

After Portia explains to TJ and Quincy about artificial runestones, Terry, the police officer guarding Ellen’s Office, explains that he "can't take this anymore" and teleports away with a blue glow. Then, he reappears without his disguise, revealing himself to be Mister Riffraff. He complains that he wasn't invited to the "exposition dump" and tells Ellen that there is no point in calling security, as Teneson, the only person capable of catching him, is located at the faraway DoodleCo City. Then, he explains that Ellen wants to get the Miracle Key because she's desperate to escape demotion. He pulls up a list of the seven executives of DoodleCo in descending order: CEO Charles, Teneson, Cortes, Ellen, Yami, Joseph, and Portia. Riffraff explains that one of Yami's subordinates was able to steal a Key, meaning Yami will soon be promoted.

However, Portia interrupts him, saying that she knows the real reason why he is here: to learn more about the uses of her mother's research. She identifies Riffraff by his real name, and explains he was one of the three original founders of DoodleCo. She also claims that he is the man who killed her mother, Rebecca. Riffraff does not deny this, and instead warns Portia to not continue her mother's research, as it "consumed her." He says it's for Portia's safety, since Rebecca was his best friend as they constantly worked together. Then, Riffraff teleports away, saying that the group will have to hurry if they want to get the Miracle Key before the player.

Rooftop Meeting

Zavier stands at the top of a building’s rooftop before Mister Riffraff teleports to him. Zavier tells Riffraff to go away and then tells him that he did research on why Chronos left him back at the Arid Mines. He can no longer reset the timeline if he makes the mistake, meaning that this timeline is final and can’t be changed. Riffraff exclaims that it is unfortunate for Zavier as TJ exists in this timeline, putting a wrench in Zavier’s plans. Zavier tells Riffraff that he has a plan since he saw TJ leave the player’s group, meaning that there is discourse among them. Riffraff knows what Zavier is trying to say and tells him to go for it since it would spice things up. Zavier asks Riffraff a question: did he kill Rebecca?

He explains furthermore that he has been keeping tabs on what has been happening. Riffraff explains that there was always tension between him and Teneson, so when the accident (Rebecca’s death) happened, Riffraff was blamed by Teneson for it and was outcasted from DoodleCo. Teneson saw Riffraff as an obstacle in his way of being the DoodleCo CEO’s number two. He says that he planned to leave DoodleCo soon anyways and that he wouldn’t be able to deal with Reragon. Riffraff tells Zavier that TJ and the player’s group are both heading towards the Frigid Key located at Icyridge. The key guardian is being threatened by rogue ShadowClan members as well which want to return to their old ways. Anna, the key guardian, promises to hand the key to whoever would protect her from the rogues. Zavier exclaims that he remembers the key but he says it would be easy to obtain since TJ is in the picture.

Personality

Riffraff is shown to be welcoming, charismatic and friendly on the outside. However, he appears to have a darker side to his personality, which is hinted at in the cutscene in Lakewood Tunnel.

Throughout the story, the player can make a series of decisions that affects how much Mister Riffraff likes or dislikes them. Currently, this only has the affect of him thanking the player for stopping Number Three from associating with the Louis Fanclub, as he claims they are "bad people." These events are separate to a player's Karma.
