The story of Doodle World takes place on “The Island.” It is inhabited by interesting two-dimensional creatures called "Doodles". The player embarks on their adventure to find all the keys in DoodleCo's Key-Finding competition.

Sketchvale | The small town of Sketchvale is the first known location the player explores, being the hometown of the player. It also houses the Doodle Laboratory. | |
Doodle Laboratory | The Doodle Laboratory is directly to the east of Sketchvale. The Doodle Laboratory is the place where new tamers will get their first Doodle from the professor. | |
Route 1 | Route 1 is the first route in the game. It is located to the north of Sketchvale through crossing a bridge. It is here that you meet a mysterious person who goes by the name of Inari who gives you the Equipment Case. | |
Route 2 | Route 2 is a relatively simple route that serves the purpose of connecting to Lakewood Town. You will meet TJ for the first time whose job is to give a tour of Lakewood Town. | |
Lakewood Town | Lakewood Town is the second accessible town in Doodle World, and the first to have a Doodle Station. TJ's tour acts as a secondary tutorial to the main features of a settlement. | |
Route 3 | Route 3 is a short route with a fork in the path, one leading straight and the other leading right. Both paths connect up to the western corner of the route, where initially, a DoodleCo engineer is "fixing" a broken gate. This is the first meeting with Mister Riffraff, who kidnaps the DoodleCo engineer to do unforseen things... | |
Lakewood Tunnel | Lakewood Tunnel is a short tunnel located behind Lakewood Town's Doodle Station. It has no wild Doodles but essentially exists to connect with Lakewood Sewer, where you infiltrate Riffraff's Lair. | |
Route 12 | Route 12 is a vast, open route with hills, rows of trees, and wind turbines. The DoodleCo Printing Facility is located on this route. The player needs to have the 3rd Key, and defeat either Rufus or Inari in Riffraff's Lair in order to access this location from Lakewood Tunnel. It is the 7th route added to the game. | |
DoodleCo Printing Facility | The DoodleCo Printing Facility is an large building owned by DoodleCo, located on Route 12. Here, Doodles can be produce via printing, and existing Doodles can be taught exclusive moves known as print moves. | |
Lakewood Sewer | Lakewood Sewer's entrance just off to the side of Lakewood Tunnel. The player has to wade through the sewer water to reach Riffraff's Lair. | |
Riffraff's Lair | Riffraff's Lair is the personal hideout of Mister Riffraff, found deep in Lakewood Sewer. Despite the grimy exterior and location, the interior of the lair is actually very clean and modern, with games and devices such as a television, a pool table, and a minigolf course. It is here that you "rescue" the kidnapped DoodleCo engineer... who is just playing Roblox with Riffraff. | |
Route 4 | Route 4 is an uphill area with a bridge that has been covered in grass. It can only be accessed after defeating Mister Riffraff. As soon as you enter the area, you are introduced to Portia who battles you for not giving your starter Doodle to Quincy. The Bridge leads to Graphite Lodge. | |
Graphite Lodge | Graphite Lodge is the second major settlement, and the first to introduce the Help Center. Alongside haybales, farmlands and citizens, the player can also catch up to seven Doodles in Graphite Lodge, which branches off of Route 4’s wild patches of grass. You are requested to try raise the reputation of "outsiders". | |
Louis Fanclub | Louis Fanclub is a temple / church like location in Graphite Lodge. The location can be accessed by going through the green house in Graphite Lodge after starting The Strange Cult request, and then jumping down the hole in the backyard. This location can still be accessed after completing the request. | |
The Crossroads | The Crossroads is a short route that leads to Crystal Cavern and Graphite Forest. It has the first rematchable trainer, making this also the first EXP & Money Hotspot. | |
Crystal Caverns | Crystal Caverns that introduces many new encounterable Doodles, and is also where you fight Craig to stop his influence over Graphite Lodge. It is the first area to have Doodles that weren't previously in the game and to introduce the first chainable legendary via story. | |
Graphite Forest | Graphite Forest is accessed through The Crossroads. It's a large area that functions as a route with some new doodles and chests scattered around the location. It connects to the Graphite Maze through a wooden door that can be opened or broken depending on the player’s decisions. | |
Graphite Maze | Graphite Maze is unlocked by opening or breaking down a wooden door within Graphite Forest. You must complete a puzzle here to reach Graphite Temple, where the player meets Nimbus, the first Key Guardian. | |
Graphite Temple | Graphite Temple is a sky island accessed through a portal in Graphite Maze which appears after completing the Maze's trial (puzzle). Here, you will battle Nimbus and obtain the Thunderstorm Key. | |
Route 5 | Route 5 is a beachside route that is accessible from both Graphite Forest and Crystal Caverns. You can encounter Doodles in grass on the shore, in the water, and even in a nearby cave that contains a wrecked ship. On the other side of some shallow ocean water is Von Sweetsville. | |
Von Sweetsville | Von Sweetsville is a run-down town that is the home of the second Key Guardian, von Sweets. The land was bought by him many years prior, but since he never leaves his factory, the town has fallen into complete chaos and disarray without any clear leadership. The town is in poor condition, and the people are addicted to eating candy, one of the few things they can afford. | |
Chef's Valley | Chef's Valley is a walled-in bamboo garden that is accessed via the subway system. It is the location where Von Sweets met a Mythical Doodle with incredible culinary skill; he also went on to found his company alongside this same Doodle known as Pandishi. | |
Von Sweets' Factory | Von Sweets' Factory is a massive factory located in Von Sweetsville. All the trees and other decorations appear to be made of candy. Von Sweets himself resides deep within the factory, and defeating him in a battle will reward the player with the Tasty Key. | |
Route 6 | Route 6 is a historical landsite located behind the Von Sweets' Factory that features many perishing pillars and ruins from long times ago. There are ancient relics that can heal doodles here, and in the far distance, you can spot large clusters of doodles atop hills. The other end of Route 6 connects to the DoodleCo Academy. | |
Runic Island | Runic Island is an island accesible from Route 6. It is an ancient island which can only be accessed after completing the Runic Island request at DoodleCo Academy's Help Center. When playing through a Runic Island Run, the player may be rewarded with many items, equipments, or runestones. Runestones may be used to awaken and unlock a doodle’s original form back in the Doodle War. | |
DoodleCo Academy | DoodleCo Academy is a school that is owned by DoodleCo. At the academy, there are numerous clubs which the player can visit and partake in. The third Key Guardian attends this academy as a student. The school also connects to the Arid Mines. | |
Arid Mines | Arid Mines is a mine that connects to DoodleCo Academy. It is accessible only to students whose studies require access. In order to enter, the player must ask the Student Council President for permission. The mines also houses a vault containing Qilintel's yearly hoard of wealth, which Zavier claims to have ransacked.
The player must venture into the mines after defeating Qilintel, in which there will be another confrontation with Zavier. This is also where the third Key Guardian is battled and rewarded with the Book Key. |

Route 7 | Route 7 is an enormous desert. It is located at the end of Arid Mines. The route is connected with the Ruined Castle, but you must talk to the guard at the front of the gate to the Oasis first. | |
The Oasis | The Oasis, also known as "The Desert Miracle", is the location of the 4th Key, according to Suzie. It also contains a DoodleCo Office and is also home to Oasis Energy’s Laboratory. | |
Ruined Castle | Ruined Castle is a castle that has fallen ages ago. It was the main stronghold for one of the sides of the Doodle War, but for some reason it is now decrepit and abandoned. It is accessible from Route 7. | |
Zane’s Hideout | Zane's Hideout is a rusty old warehouse, serving as the hideout for Zane and his ruffians. It is located to the northwest of the Oasis, connecting to the road. Victor Solis sends the player and Suzie to the abandoned warehouse to “teach” Zane a lesson and to force him to give up and let Oasis Energy demolish his hideout. | |
Oasis Underground | Accessed via the sewers, the player, Suzie, and Zane must traverse through the Oasis Underground and enter Zerzura’s Room to free it and reveal the truth about Victor Solis using Zerzura as an energy source to power the Oasis. | |
Oasis Energy | After Suzie uses her explosives to explode a nearby vent at the Oasis Underground, the player must enter Oasis Energy’s Laboratory and search for 4 pieces of the code needed to free Zerzura. The pieces of the code can be found from 4 separate computers, spread out throughout the laboratory. | |
Route 8 | Route 8 serves as a connection from desert to ice. The desert side shares the same scenery as Route 7 while the ice side looks like a frozen over desert with frozen sand, cacti, and trees. It is found at the back of Zane's Hideout and leads to Icywood Forest. | |
Icywood Forest | Icywood Forest is a frozen forest that leads up to Icyridge. Desmond is met here for the first time along with an old lady named Rosemary. After you battle Desmond here, the Shadow Clan starts to invade Icyridge which you must now enter. | |
Icyridge | Icyridge is a town which contains the Frigid Key. The town has not been influenced by DoodleCo which results in there not being a Doodle Station and instead, an alchemy station which fulfils the same role. | |
Alchemist's Grotto | A small crystal cave located at the end of Icyridge |
