- Kowosu's weapon of choice, insect typing, and evolutionary designs, may be inspired by Hollow Knight.
- Kowosu's signature move, Life-Ender is likely a reference to Zote the Mighty from Hollow Knight, whose choice of weapon is a nail (similar in design to the weapon Kowosu uses) named "Life Ender".

- Kowosu originated as a meme when Tlmsuper contributed towards the other evolutions. However, he liked the concept and stuck with it.

Etymology[]
Kowosu comes from "korosu", the Japanese verb for "to kill/slay/murder", and possibly "OwO", an emoticon popularized from text messaging and social media. (and might contain "K.O" as in beat up)
