Icyridge Hold is a castle in Icyridge where Anna resides. It is where the battles for the Frigid Key take place.
Notable Events[]
Defeating "Kaze"[]
At Icyridge Hold, the player enter the castle and meets their group Suzie,Quincy,TJ after being granted permission by Captain Silvier who stayed behind to organize a guard force to arrest the Shadow Clan. Suzie points out that they couldn’t wait for the player to stop daydreaming, and Anna reveals that "Kaze" already defeated the four stone guardians that were meant to protect the Frigid Key. "Kaze" mocks them, commenting on the missing members of their group—specifically Desmond, Anna's father. Suzie explains that Desmond stayed behind to deal with the remaining Shadow Clan members.
Quincy confirms that they saw "Kaze" defeat the final stone guardian as they approached, acknowledging his strength. "Kaze" demands the Frigid Key from Anna, but she insists there's one final trial he must face. "Kaze" grows impatient and threatens them, referencing the fate of Victor Solis as a warning. When asked, he ominously refuses to clarify what happened to Victor. Anna declares that the last trial involves fighting her chosen champion.
Feeling the situation is grim, TJ announces he is going to retrieve Captain Silvier, still determined to claim the key himself later. "Kaze" mocks their efforts, assuming none of them could challenge him. Anna, despite her nerves, chooses the player as her champion. "Kaze" remarks that he expected this and begins ranting about the player’s strange, sudden growth in strength—mocking DoodleCo’s failure to record the player's significance before the key hunt began. He muses whether divine intervention protects the player before vowing to defeat them to prove his strength, citing that he was once considered Yami’s successor. The player then battles "Kaze" and defeats him. Shocked by his loss, "Kaze" struggles to accept his defeat. At that moment, TJ and Captain Silvier return, with Silvier complimenting the player’s strength and understanding why TJ didn’t want him to witness it. Silvier reports that the remaining Shadow Clan members have been captured and are being thrown into the deepest level of Icyridge’s dungeon, Level 9, for life. He announces "Kaze"’s arrest, declaring there will be no trial. "Kaze" vows he’ll escape, but Silvier downplays his threats.
Suzie teases that she technically escaped the dungeon first, but Silvier reminds her that she was freed by Head Guard Tinsley. "Kaze" brags about being the best the Shadow Clan has to offer, but the conversation is interrupted by the sudden arrival of Inari and Yami. Inari excitedly praises the player, while Yami expresses his excitement at the thought of battling the player in the future.Inari announces that she is now Yami’s second-in-command, a long-vacant position, and the two clarify that the original Shadow Clan had nothing to do with "Kaze"’s plan. Captain Silvier questions their intentions, and Yami confirms he doesn't care about the imprisoned Shadow Clan members, calling them traitors. Yami requests custody of "Kaze" to punish him personally. "Kaze" panics, desperately begging not to be handed over to Yami. Even as "Kaze" pleads, Captain Silvier, after some thought, decides to hand "Kaze" over to Yami. "Kaze" screams in horror as he’s taken away, with Yami promising that their paths will cross again after the player grows stronger.
Anna hear's the truth[]
Once they leave, Captain Silvier reassures Anna that he’ll be around if she needs anything, though Anna seems confused by his meaning. Attention shifts to Desmond, and Anna begins to worry about him. Quincy, Suzie, and the player explain that Desmond sacrificed his soul to the Witch to save them and ensure the key’s safety. Anna is devastated by the news, heartbroken that she didn’t get to say goodbye.
Suddenly, a mysterious voice calls out to Anna—it's Desmond, who appears in an ethereal form. He tells Anna the Witch granted him a brief moment to say farewell. He reassures Anna that none of this was her fault and that everything he did was out of his love and desire to keep her safe. Though heartbroken, Anna finds comfort in his final words. Desmond reminds Anna of her heritage as the descendant of a Doodle War hero, encouraging her to stay strong. As he fades away, Anna resolves to be strong despite her grief.
Anna tries to award the player the Frigid Key for protecting her, but TJ interrupts, demanding a fair chance to earn it now that the Shadow Clan threat has been dealt with. Anna agrees to his request, suggesting a battle between the player and TJ. Quincy then pulls the player aside, asking if they trust him. After the player confirms their trust, Quincy insists on battling TJ in the player's place to help TJ return to his normal self. Suzie and the player agree to let Quincy battle.TJ arrogantly believes his chances of winning have increased dramatically against Quincy. Anna, still inexperienced in her role as a Key Guardian, nervously agrees. Suzie instructs the player to talk to her to watch the upcoming battle between Quincy and TJ.
Quicny vs TJ[]
At Icyridge Hold, Suzie asks if the player is ready to watch Quincy and TJ battle, noting that this match will decide who wins the Frigid Key, with Quincy fighting on the player’s behalf. Suzie cheers on TJ to give it his worst, while TJ mocks the situation, saying he would have been scared if he had to face the player instead. Quincy challenges TJ, telling him that if he loses, he must admit he’s not the chosen one. This deeply angers TJ, who shouts that he’s tired of being treated like some cosmic experiment. He insists that his existence must have meaning because he is the chosen one. Suzie calls out to him, but Quincy responds with empathy, revealing he once felt the same way, burdened by expectations as the son of the most important man on the island. However, Quincy says that they can choose their own paths and find purpose beyond what destiny dictates. TJ refuses to listen.
Suzie observes that TJ seemed to waver for a moment, wondering if Quincy’s words were reaching him. She hopes Quincy can win the battle, knowing it would prove everything they’re trying to tell TJ. Then, a mysterious moment happens—the player hears a strange sound that Suzie doesn’t notice. A voice informs the player Quincy will lose unless they intervene, stating the first parameter has been achieved and urging the player to imagine themselves as Quincy. Trusting the voice instinctively, the player shifts into Quincy's perspective without possessing him. It feels strange, but the player goes along with it. As Anna announces the battle, TJ threatens Quincy, but Quincy tries once again to reason with him. The battle begins, and with the player’s hidden influence, Quincy defeats TJ.
After the battle, the perspective shifts back to the player. TJ, shocked at his loss to Quincy, questions everything, unable to believe he lost. Quincy also seems stunned. Suzie notes that Quincy's fighting style was eerily similar to the player’s, and TJ agrees, saying he felt the same overwhelming hopelessness he usually feels when fighting the player. Quincy claims he wasn’t consciously copying the player. Defeated and confused, TJ says he needs time to himself, questioning his worth if he can't even defeat Quincy. Suzie tries to reassure him again that he is not defined by being the chosen one and that the universe has other plans for him. TJ says nothing and leaves.
Anna announces Quincy as the winner and congratulates the player for earning the Frigid Key. Quincy reflects that he originally sought the keys for his father’s recognition but now realizes staying by the player’s side would bring him the fulfillment he sought. He decides to stop pursuing keys independently and instead support the player, like Suzie does. Suzie supports his decision, and Anna, confused by their conversation, tries to continue to give player the key.
Zavier's arrival and The Truth of Zavier[]
Just as Anna is about to give the player the key, a sudden interruption occurs. A mysterious voice declares that the key was meant for him. Suzie and Quincy are startled to see Zavier, who somehow infiltrated Icyridge during the confusion caused by all the recent arrests. Suzie jokes about Zavier jumping down from the second story, but Zavier ignores her, stating that while he lost to the player in the Arid Mines, he’s now prepared and won’t rely on Chronos this time. Confident, he claims he will defeat the player, steal all the keys, and fix DoodleCo’s mistakes. A battle breaks out between the player and Zavier, and once again, the player emerges victorious.
Zavier, stunned, can’t believe his defeat. He notes that in previous loops, he easily beat the player. Confused by the player's newfound strength, he questions what forces might be at work. Suzie, noticing Zavier's voice, points out its similarities to Quincy’s. Zavier, recognizing Suzie’s presence, becomes alarmed, stating that she wasn’t part of previous timelines and that she shouldn’t even have met Quincy yet. Zavier accuses Suzie of being a future traitor, warning Quincy not to trust her.Quincy demands proof, and Zavier shares a secret from Quincy’s childhood—how Quincy once scattered Rebecca's research notes and Portia was wrongly blamed. Quincy, shocked because he never told anyone that story, is shaken. Zavier pleads that he’s trying to protect Quincy from repeating his past pain. Quincy, heartbroken and feeling betrayed, leaves abruptly, saying that trusting people like Suzie was a mistake.Suzie turns to the player, desperate, insisting she has no idea what Zavier is talking about and that she’s not a traitor. The player, uncertain, admits they don’t know what to believe. Devastated, Suzie says she needs time alone and leaves.
Left alone, Anna is confused by all the drama, wondering aloud if everyone in the player’s group is having some kind of emotional breakdown. Zavier, now more calm, explains everything: he is Quincy from an alternate, doomed timeline where DoodleCo obtained all ten keys, leading to a second Doodle War. To save the world, the elder of the Key Guardians allowed him to use Chronos and travel back to fix things. He reveals he didn’t steal Chronos. He notes the player was in his original timeline too but was never this powerful, only managing to secure two keys before failing. He wonders if Mythical beings are behind the change. He concludes by expressing trust in Mister Riffraff and leaves, muttering about the pain of jumping from a second story again.
Claiming the Frigid Key[]
Finally, Anna tells the player to come and collect the Frigid Key without further interruption. She formally awards the player the Frigid Key and gives them a Life Sap scroll, a memento of her late father’s favorite move. She expresses her grief over her father’s passing and asks the player to join her in speaking with Captain Silvier.
Meanwhile, a brief scene plays in the Alchemist Grotto's bunker, where Zavier, lost in thought, is approached by a mysterious figure known as the Witch. She offers him a contract, claiming she can help him without violating the universe’s rules since he is not of this timeline. The Witch hints that forces beyond Zavier are moving and even she risks being erased. The story then cuts back to the player at Icyridge Hold, ready to follow Anna to the guard house on the ground level.
