Graphite Lodge

Graphite Lodge is the second major settlement where the player can access a Doodle Station, Cassidy’s house, and the Help Center, alongside haybales, farmlands, and citizens. The player can also capture up to seven Doodles in Graphite Lodge, which branches off of Route 4’s wild patches of grass.

Story Events[]

The player will reach Graphite Lodge after completing the majority of the story quest involving stopping the rain caused by the Key Guardian, where they will enter alongside TJ and encounter two citizens named Lass Sarah and Miner. The two attempt to challenge TJ and the player in order to remove them from the city. Right before the battle begins, however, Cassidy intervenes and prevents the situation from escalating. She explains that the town wasn't always hostile to newcomers, but ever since the DoodleCo Key Hunt began, the sheriff Craig had become "evil".

The player is invited to her lodge, where they meet her father, the mayor. He wants TJ and the player to help stop Craig's takeover, since Craig has the townspeople on his side. He believes the first step is to fix the town's perception of outsiders, since it would be easier to stop Craig without the townspeople supporting him. TJ and the player agree, but only with the condition of gaining access to the Forest Maze to defeat the first Key Guardian.

To help the mayor, the player and TJ follow Cassidy to the Help Center where TJ and the player each take on a quest. TJ is tasked to literally find a needle in a haystack, and the player must complete the Big Bully request. After completing the quest, the player receives money and a Tally Counter.

The player is then prompted to speak to the Mayor again, but gets interrupted by Cassidy as she brings the bad news. Craig is attempting to capture Maelzuri in order to take over Graphite Lodge and become the mayor once and for all. After the cutscene, you gain access to The Crossroads.

After completing the events of Crystal Caverns, you return here and enter the Mayor's house. Here, Cassidy scolds TJ for getting the Opal Orb stolen, and TJ says he'll post a Help Center request about it. The Mayor allows the player access to Graphite Forest, but only after one last Doodle Battle... with Cassidy!

Mysterious House[]

The Mysterious House is an abandoned house in the corner of Graphite Lodge. The door is locked, and the player will only be able to enter after taking Cassidy's Mysterious House request. Cassidy calls for the player's help to investigate it, only to find nothing but a stack of boxes. However, she is not satisfied in her findings, so she makes the player look through every single box until they find something unusual. The strange noise is coming from a box on the second stack from the right. After defeating Glubbie, report back to Cassidy outside. Then, a man named Wish will appear, and say that he is interested in Glubbie. He will then reside in the town's Doodle Station to give the player rewards if they show him certain Doodles. The player can then go collect their reward at the Help Center.

Graphite Lodge NPC's[]

The list below shows and explains all the NPC's the player can talk to and or interact in Graphite Lodge. Some like TJ are some of the NPC's that help the player to continue their journey. Others are tamers fight the player for money.

TJ then tries to start a doodle battle with the Miner and Lass Sarah, but gets stopped when (someone) tells him not to engage in battling (Dialogue of when (person) stops TJ's doodle battle): person stopping TJ from doodle battling the Miner and Lass Sarah, which the Miner is annoyed about. Cassidy then shows herself to the player and Cassidy and the Miner argue "We were literally sent by a DoodleCo Executive to fix this rain problem! All we need is information so we can find the key guardian, and then we will be out of your hair. We promise." The Miner remarks how the player and TJ were just lucky because Cassidy came (Dialogue after the Miner and Lass Sarah leave Graphite Lodge): "This town is the complete opposite of Lakewood... wow." Cassidy then says that it's tradition for the town the pick a new mayor, which they picked her father and he picked Craig to be the sheriff, but it lead the town into a downfall of leadership "What happened?" Cassidy explains that ever since the DoodleCo Key Hunt competition, Craig has wanted power and if he becomes the new mayor, he will ruin the town for good "This is a cool story and all, but we're not here to solve your town's political problems. I literally spent 2 hours battling someone to save a kidnapped person, only for it to be a waste of my time." Cassidy then says she will make a deal and then asks if TJ and the player are looking for the key guardian "...we are. We're both apart of the DoodleCo Key Hunt." Cassidy then says she knows where the key guardian might be "He's in this town? We'll find him without your help." Cassidy explains that the key guardian is at the Forest Maze "sighs* Fine. I get what you're saying. We'll help you get rid of this Craig for access to the Forest Maze."* Cassidy says that Craig might be hearing about her and TJ's plan, so she advises that TJ and the player meet up in her house "This isn't going to be simple... I hope this isn't a reoccuring thing. I'll see you at Cassidy's house." TJ then leaves to go to Cassidy's house	Found when the player first enters Graphite Lodge.
Miner	Male	(Dialogue of when the player first enters Graphite Lodge): TJ tells Miner and Lass Sarah to move out of the way "No can do, buckaroo! Sheriff Craig says no outsiders while it's raining." Lass Sarah chimes by saying yes to the Miner's response, which then TJ tells the both of them that the rain is caused by a key guardian and that the player and himself are trying to find the key guardian in order to stop it from raining "What's a "key guardian"? Sounds like an outsider to me." Lass Sarah agrees with the Miner, which TJ then tries to start a doodle battle with the Miner and Lass Sarah, but gets stopped when Cassidy tells him not to engage in battling (Dialogue of when Cassidy stops TJ's doodle battle): Cassidy stops TJ from doodle battling the Miner and Lass Sarah "Tch. An annoyance has appeared." Cassidy then shows herself to the player "Why is Cassidy, the mayor's daughter, protecting outsiders? Are you a traitor?" Cassidy then tells the Miner that he shouldn't be mean to the outsiders and TJ then says that he and the player were sent her by a DoodleCo Executive to stop the key guardian from making it rain "Pfft. You're lucky that you have the goody two shoes on your side. Your corrupted father won't be the mayor for long, Cassidy. Watch out. Sheriff Craig is coming for him." Lass Sarah then agrees with the Miner "Sarah, why are you even here??? Whatever. Let's pack it up." The Miner and Lass Sarah then leave	Found when the player first enters Graphite Lodge but then Lass Sarah after Cassidy shows up.

The Miner chimes by telling TJ and the player that Cassidy came "Phew, that was close. If you battled them, Craig would declare you two delinquents and ban you from town!" The Miner then asks Cassidy why she is protecting TJ and the player when they are outsiders "Well, for one, you know the mayor doesn't support this certain policy of kicking out outsiders." TJ then tells Cassidy that they were sent by a DoodleCo Executive to stop the key guardian from making it rain, which the Miner and Lass Sarah decide to leave Graphite Lodge (Dialogue after the Miner and Lass Sarah leave Graphite Lodge): TJ then says that Graphite Lodge is the opposite of Lakewood Town "Graphite Lodge wasn't always this hostile... my father is the mayor of this town, and he's honestly trying his best. It's tradition for the mayor to select a sheriff, and my father chose Craig. Obviously, Craig wasn't always like this. The first few years this town grew exponentially under their leadership." TJ then asks Cassidy what happened "Ever since a month ago... the time the DoodleCo Key Hunt competition started, Craig's entire demeanor changed. He's just... evil now. I don't know what exactly happened. All I know is that if Craig is left to his own devices, he will become mayor and ruin this town forever." TJ remarks by saying they need to do their task at hand which is to find the key guardian, and not talk about their political problems "Let's make a deal, then. I know you're looking for the key guardian." TJ says that the player and him are trying to do that, as well as competing in the DoodleCo Key Hunt "Good! We can come to an understanding. I know the general location of the key guardian." TJ then says if they're here at Graphite Lodge, then he doesn't need Cassidy's help "No, he lives in the Forest Maze close by. However, due to the circumstances, outsiders can't visit the Forest Maze." TJ then understands that they need to get rid of Craig so that they can have access to the Forest Maze "Glad we can come to an agreement. My house is the closest one nearby. The one with the blue roof. Craig has gotten support of the other villagers... he may have spies listening to us. Come meet me in my house when you're ready." Cassidy then leaves to go to her house that she told TJ and the player about	Found when the player enters Graphite Lodge to stop TJ from doodle battling the Miner and Lass Sarah. She then goes to her house to talk to TJ and the player about her plan.

Trivia[]

After Teneson uses Reragon to clear the fallen poles on Route 3, it is sent into constant rainfall in both the overworld and in battle. The rain persists until the first Key Guardian is defeated.
Graphite Lodge shares very similar wild encounters to those in Route 4.
- The only difference in encounters are the Very Rare doodles.
In the Mayor's house, his attic is accessible. There is a red orb located up there, similar to the Opal Orb seen in the story.
If you interact with Village Dunce after completing the Blasted Music request, he will do the Default Dance.
The Gem reward from the chest besides the locked cabin has been reduced, from 250 to 100 gems as of an update at (date unknown).
