Experience, otherwise known as EXP for short, is a unit of measurement used for leveling up Doodles.
When a certain amount of experience is acquired, your Doodle will level up. The amount of experience needed to level up will increase each level. The exact amount for the experience needed depends on the Doodle's experience group. There is a level cap system implemented as well; the level cap starts at 20 at the beginning of the game and goes up by 8 for each key obtained.
When a Doodle levels up, their stats will always increase. In most cases, when a Doodle reaches certain levels they can learn new moves, and most Doodles will require a certain level to evolve.
As of the current version, the highest obtainable level cap is 100.
Experience Gaining and Groups[]
Different Doodle species can be placed into four different "experience groups," referring to how much experience is required to level them up. These groups are Fast, Moderately Fast, Slow, and Moderately Slow, which roughly refer to how "quickly" they will level up. All Doodles in the same group will need the same experience to level up.
Formulas for Gained Experience[]
The experience required for a Doodle to reach a certain level can be represented by a polynomial (cubic) equation (seen below). All different experience groups have their own formulas for experience. Upon obtaining, all Doodles possess the total amount of experience required to get them to their current level. The exception to these formulas is at level 1, when a Doodle has 0 total experience.
*PLEASE NOTE THAT VARIABLE n IS THE DOODLES LEVEL*
Fast[]
Doodles in the Fast experience group will need a total of 800,000 experience to reach level 100.
For example, a Lumiline at level 44 at base experience will have gained a total amount of 68,147 EXP.
Moderately Fast[]
Doodles in the Moderately Fast experience group will need a total of 1,000,000 experience to reach level 100.
For example, a Wolfreeze at level 44 at base experience will have gained a total amount of 85,184 EXP.
Moderately Slow[]
Doodles in the Moderately Slow experience group will need a total of 1,059,860 experience to reach level 100.
For example, a Marigrimm at level 44 at base experience will have gained a total amount of 77,440 EXP.
Slow[]
Doodles in the Slow experience group will need a total of 1,250,000 experience to reach level 100.
For example, a Horbeast at level 44 at base experience will have gained a total amount of 106,480 EXP.
Graph[]
Provided is a graph of the four equations, with red representing Fast, green representing Medium Fast, orange representing Medium Slow, and purple representing Slow. The x-axis represents the Doodle's level, and the y-axis represents the experience required to get it to that level.
Notably, not every experience group retains its relative "speed" among the others for all 100 levels; it requires less experience to get a Medium Slow Doodle to level 29 than it would a Fast Doodle, and it takes less experience to get a Medium Slow Doodle to level 67 than it does a Medium Fast Doodle.
Ways to Obtain Experience[]
There are a number of ways to obtain experience, those include:
Battling/Catching Wild Doodles[]
One way to get experience is to simply encounter a wild Doodle and simply defeat it or catching it. However, wild Doodles give less experience than tamed Doodles.
Battling Doodle Tamers[]
Tamers are the best way to gain experience, as they used tamed Doodles. However, most Doodle tamers will not be able to rebattle you once you have defeated them. Losing to a Doodle tamer or running from a battle will still allow you to rebattle them since you haven't defeated them, but this is not an ideal way of gaining experience due to losing money and friendship between your Doodles. However, there are Rebattler tamers that you can rebattle infinitely for experience and money.
As of v0.5.1, these are the tamers that can be rebattled:
- Rebattler Riley, located at The Crossroads by the wall behind the subway.
- Rebattler Ryan, located at Von Sweetsville near the fence on the left side of the subway.
- Rebattler Robert, located at DoodleCo Academy in the track field.
- Rebattler Rhett, located at The Oasis near the Doodle encounter sign.
Using Bot Battler[]
Bot Battler is located near Wonder Trade hub at Social Park. By talking to the scientist in front of the Bot Battler, the player can either load other player's bot if they have submitted their team or save their current team to the Bot Battler. This allows the player search up their username and battle their own team. Battling the Bot Battler grants player experience, varied by doodle species. Therefore having a team of 6 Legendary Doodles is the best as legendary doodles yield tons of experience. It is also recommended to fill Bot Battler's doodles moveset with only support moves.
Some recommended bot battlers:
i_eaturface (lvl 60 Qilintels with no attack moves, gains 15k - 20k exp per battle)
givemegoodrngplsgame (lvl 52 doodles with less attack moves)
ilyannna (lvl 100 Tsumo with no attack moves, level 100 Plipo with Adrenaline)

Gaining More Experience[]
There are ways you can gain extra experience, which are:
Boosts[]
You can buy the 2x Experience Gain in the Special Shop for Gems, which gives you a boost that doubles experience gained for the time limit that you bought. There is also a chance that the Final Daily Gift will grant a 2x Experience Gain booster.
Doodle Abilities[]
There is only one ability currently that gives bonus experience, being Wish for Experience, available only to the Apurrition line.
Held Items[]
There are currently no known held items that grant extra experience.
Training Helper[]
The Training Helper is a key item that can be acquired in Riffraff's Lair as part of the main story. When turned on, all Doodles in your party get experience, regardless of if they participated in the battle or not.
