Doodle Cosmetics (unofficial name) consist of Skins, Tints, Misprints, Sizes, and Auras, which are all Doodles with alternative appearances. These special types of Doodles have different-colored level labels in storage. While normal Doodles have white default labels (cyan if the doodle has hidden trait), skins will have red labels, Tints will have orange labels and Misprints will have yellow labels.
Skins[]
Skins are a cosmetic effect which can be freely equipped and unequipped across different Doodles of the same evolutionary line. More information can be found here.
Tints[]
Tints are a special variation of Doodles which are tinted one specific color. Tinted Doodles can be found in the wild at a fixed 1/500 chance. More information can be found here.
Misprints[]
Misprints are rare variants of Doodles which have alternate coloring. The base chances of encountering a Misprint without any modifiers are 1/4000. There are various ways to boost the chances of finding a Misprint:
- Misprint booster
- Misprint Trinket
- Worn-Out Misprint Trinket
- Completing all tasks for an evolution line
- Chaining
This is a very basic overview for increasing Misprint odds. Much more information can be found here.
- There are two NPC trainers with a Misprint, as the first Doodle Mister Riffraff sends out is a Misprint Riffrat named Number Four, and an NPC in the Oasis Laboratory has a Misprint Klydaskunk.
- An NPC trainer's Doodle can also be a Misprint if it happens to hit the Misprint odds.
- When visiting a certain house in Lakewood with a (player-caught) Misprint, the player can receive a "Misprint" title and 500 gems.
- Misprints will always have 4 or more stars.
- Misprints have a special twinkling sound effect when entering battle.
Uniques[]
Uniques, similar to Misprints, are rare variants of Doodles with alternate coloring. They can be found in the wild with a 1/1500 chance, which drops to 1/1000 on the Weekend. Unlike Misprints, there is no way to modify the odds of Uniques.
- Unlike Misprints, Uniques are only obtainable through wild encounters.
- Uniques have a Serial Number ID attached to them, in accordance to when they were first obtained.
- It's also possible to check how many copies of a given Unique Doodle exist by clicking on its icon.
- Contributors receive a special Serial Number #0 Unique version of the Doodle(s) they contributed.
- Not every Doodle currently has a Unique form. Currently, only 26 lines have them.
Sizes[]
When encountering a Doodle, there is a small chance (1/500) that it will be either massive or tiny. Sizes have no effect on gameplay, only looks during battle and the overworld if it is in the first slot of your party. Normally, a Doodle's size will range from 90%-115%, but a tiny Doodle will have its size set to 25% and a large Doodle will have its size set to 200%. You can tell if the Doodle is tiny or large by its name color in battle. Doodles with orange names will be large whilst small Doodles will have a blue name.
- Theres a secret size in the game called Mutant, this size makes the doodle Big and Tiny at the same time by making the doodle grow and shrink its size, this size can only be obtained from the Summer Roulette. The chances of this is unknown.
Auras[]
They are a special variation of Doodles which adds a small animated effect on top of the Doodle. There are currently 4 different Auras in game, all of which are related to some type of event/holiday.
Fonts[]
Released with Icyridge, is the ability to change the font of your doodle's name from 29 different options. A NPC in Icyridge, Ser Font, will unlock this customization option for your doodles at the cost of $100,000 per doodle.
