Story[]
Oasis Underground Meeting[]
After Portia meets with the player and the rest of the group, Quincy asks Portia to set an appointment with Ellen. When the group meets up with Ellen, she tells the group that Zane has been attacking DoodleCo personnel ever since they stated that they wanted to buy Oasis Energy. She then informs them that she is participating in the key hunt. TJ then tells Ellen that he wants to offer her a deal. Ellen tells him that he is now speaking her “language” as she likes to make deals since she is a businesswoman. Quincy and Portia both want to join TJ with this offer. Ellen tells the three of them to meet her at her office.
After Zane is defeated at his hideout, Suzie, the player, and Zane enter the Oasis Underground. Meanwhile, a meeting at Ellen's office begins involving her, Portia, Quincy, and TJ. An officer named Terry is told to lock the doors. Then, Ellen explains that DoodleCo wishes to purchase the Miracle Key from Victor Solis. TJ is surprised, saying that he thought Zane was the Key Guardian. Ellen continues to explain that Solis has imprisoned the Legendary Doodle Zerzura and is using it to power the city. She explains that law enforcement is closing in on him, so TJ and Quincy will have to obtain the Key first. Quincy protests, saying that there's no way either him or TJ are strong enough to stop the player from obtaining the Key first. Then, Ellen explains that Portia has been working on something which will increase their strength.
Portia begins by explaining the Doodle War. She says that 500 years ago, there was a war that encompassed the entire island, and it was fought between two Legendary Doodles: Verdrok, the representation of reality, and Somniere, the representation of dreams. Despite Verdrok being significantly weaker than Somniere, it was able to defeat Somniere and win the war. Any Doodle that fought on Somniere's side was punished by having their power sealed away within a Runestone, and when a Doodle gets ahold of its respective Runestone, it is able to take on its old form. In order to prevent another war, Verdrok created a limitation which only allowed tamers to awaken one Doodle per battle.
Then, Portia explains that they have recently been able to awaken Doodles that did not participate in the war. This is done by harnessing the energy from when a Runestone is activated, and applying that to any Doodle. By placing this energy into an item, that item functions as a runestone. Then, Officer Terry asks which Doodles have been artifically awakened, and Portia tells the group that so far, they have been able to awaken Owol and Hypnotl. Quincy asks if she did all of this by herself, and Portia tells him that these were her mother's last notes before she died.
Then, Terry explains that he "can't take this anymore" and teleports away with a blue glow. Then, he reappears without his disguise, revealing himself to be Mister Riffraff. He complains that he wasn't invited to the "exposition dump" and tells Ellen that there is no point in calling security, as Teneson, the only person capable of catching him, is in the faraway DoodleCo City. Then, he explains that Ellen wants to get the Key because she's desperate to escape demotion. He pulls up a list of the seven executives of DoodleCo in descending order: CEO Charles, Teneson, Cortes, Ellen, Yami, Joseph, and Portia. Riffraff explains that one of Yami's subordinates was able to steal a Key, meaning Yami will soon be promoted.
However, Portia interrupts him, saying that she knows the real reason why he is here: to learn more about the uses of her mother's research. She identifies Riffraff by his real name, and explains he was one of the three original founders of DoodleCo. She also claims that he is the man who killed her mother, Rebecca. Riffraff does not deny this, and instead warns Portia to not continue her mother's research, as it "consumed her." He says it's for Portia's safety, since Rebecca was his best friend as they constantly worked together. Then, Riffraff teleports away, saying that the group will have to hurry if they want to get the Miracle Key before the player. Ellen then gives one artificial runestone each to TJ and Quincy.
Oasis Wrapup Meeting[]
After the events at the Oasis Underground end, the player and their group meet with Zane, Portia, and Ellen at DoodleCo Office J. Ellen talks about how that she is annoyed that Quincy and TJ weren’t able to retrieve the Miracle Key for her and she is now going to be demoted to the fifth ranked DoodleCo Executive since a member of the ShadowClan retrieved a key for “Yami”. Portia, who also isn’t in a good mood, also demands for TJ and Quincy to give her the artificial runestones back. She then decides to let Quincy battle with his Hypnotl Antigen against the player. Once the player defeats Quincy, Portia decides to give the antigen to the player since she decides that they are more capable of wielding it. She still has to work on some technical issues with the Owol Artificial Runestone however.
Suzie explains that the player made a deal with Victor Solis in order to get the Miracle Key as it would be a much safer bet. Zane then chimes in as he asks if Solis was caught, but Suzie tells him that the authorities hasn’t found him yet. Ellen decides to make Zane the interim CEO of Oasis Energy since he knows the area very and that he deeply cared for it for a long time. Suzie asks if the Oasis wouldn’t run out of power since Zerzura has been freed, but Ellen replies swifly to her, telling Suzie that Zerzura simply gave even more energy and power to the Oasis than needed. She says that the next time she comes across with the player, she would have permission to use her team which also includes her powerful Prismare. After Ellen and Portia teleport to DoodleCo City, Quincy explains to TJ about why Portia lost her team for a few months. The reason why she is using a weaker team than her normal team was because she got in trouble with Teneson for creating the Quincy Fan Club. Soon enough, a mailman arrives to hand a letter to the player and their group.
TJ reads the letter which is from a resident of Icyridge called Anna who is the key guardian of the Frigid Key and is currently being threatened by rogue ShadowClan members. Quincy exclaims that he dislikes Icyridge while TJ continues on. She promises to give the key to the player and their group if they help her. Once TJ finishes reading the letter, Zane tells the group that they need to take a short hike from his hideout to Route 8 which would eventually lead to Icyridge. Quincy replies to Zane that Icyridge is full of backward savages who hate change and tells the group that his father would always be enraged whenever he would visit Icyridge, due to their residents not accepting his deal to turn it into a DoodleCo town.
Suzie questions about why the ShadowClan is acting strange, but TJ exclaims that it doesn’t matter to him as since he is a “Universal Anomaly” , the situation won’t bother him. This annoys Suzie as she tells TJ that she is starting to get sick of him acting like that as it is getting old for her. TJ tells the group that it is now time for him to leave as he believes he can get the Frigid Key all on his own. He leaves the building afterwards. Suzie then tells the group that she has heard of a Legendary Doodle with the power to change the climate of Icyridge. She and Quincy then head out to Zane’s hideout while Zane tells the player to come visit him at Oasis Energy once they obtain the Frigid Key.
Zavier stands at the top of a building’s rooftop before Mister Riffraff teleports to him. Zavier tells Riffraff to go away and then tells him that he did research on why Chronos left him back at the Arid Mines. He can no longer reset the timeline if he makes the mistake, meaning that this timeline is final and can’t be changed. Riffraff exclaims that it is unfortunate for Zavier as TJ exists in this timeline, putting a wrench in Zavier’s plans. Zavier tells Riffraff that he has a plan since he saw TJ leave the player’s group, meaning that is discourse among them. Riffraff knows what Zavier is trying to say and tells him to go for it since it would spice things up. Zavier asks Riffraff a question: did he kill Rebecca?
He explains furthermore that he has been keeping tabs on what has been happening. Riffraff explains that there was always tension between him and Teneson, so when the accident (Rebecca’s death) happened, Riffraff was blamed by Teneson for it and was outcasted from DoodleCo. Teneson saw Riffraff as an obstacle in his way of being the DoodleCo CEO’s number two. He says that he planned to leave DoodleCo soon anyways and that he wouldn’t be able to deal with Reragon. Riffraff tells Zavier that TJ and the player’s group are both heading towards the Frigid Key located at Icyridge. The key guardian is being threatened by rogue ShadowClan members as well which want to return to their old ways. Anna, the key guardian, promises to hand the key to whoever would protect her from the rogues. Zavier exclaims that he remembers the key but he says it would be easy to obtain since TJ is in the picture.
